North Delta Crime Beat: Police investigating several tool thefts

The purpose of the Crime Beat is to educate and inform the public about some of the property crime trends occurring in North Delta and other files of interest. Here are a selection of files for the past week:

*Sept. 26, 1:11 a.m., 1100 block 85A Ave: Complainant reported that a stranger was banging on their house. Police attended and located a male who was intoxicated, but able to care for himself – was lost and just needed a ride home. Police called a cab and sent him on his way.

*Sept. 26, 8:02 a.m., 8000 block 120 St: Employee at a local store advised DPD of two males attempting to flee from the store after stealing an unknown amount of items. The store clerk was alerted to the theft as their shopping cart was located near the exit doors. Both males grabbed a hold of two bins from within the cart and fled into the parking lot, loading items into a vehicle.

*Sept. 30, 8:50 a.m., 117th St and 80th Ave: Police received a call that a tool trailer had been broken into overnight while parked in front of a residence. Stolen items included two large and two small coil guns and a digital level. The two suspects also stole the residences’ recycling bin which has the residential address on it.

*Oct. 1, 10:30 a.m., 9100 block of 118th St: Police received a report of a theft from a work van that was parked in the driveway of a residence. The complainant reported approximately $4,000 worth of tools stolen from the van. While on scene, police were able to confirm the locks on the van were punched which was proof of forced entry. Police are investigating.

*Oct. 1, 10:30 a.m., 8200 block of 112th St: Police received a 911 call for a motor vehicle collision. The driver of a sedan lost control and collided with a parked vehicle, pushing that vehicle onto a lawn and into a tree. Both vehicles were severely damaged. Police investigated the driver of the sedan for impaired driving, and gave them a 90-day driving prohibition.
