North Delta Crime Beat: Police report more catalytic converter thefts

The purpose of the Crime Beat is to educate and inform the public about some of the property crime trends occurring in North Delta and other files of interest. *Dec. 6, 8900 Block of Watson Drive: Complainant reported the theft of their catalytic converter, sometime overnight from their vehicle parked on the street. The complainant observed two possible suspects near the vehicle, but was unable to provide a description.  Police canvassed the area with negative results.

*Dec. 9, 11800 Block of 80th Avenue: Complainant reported that while they were organizing packages in the back of their delivery truck a male grabbed two packages and fled from the scene. The suspect is described as a South Asian male, wearing a black ball cap, 180 cm tall, and medium build. The complainant was unable to provide any further information as the incident was so brief. Police investigation continues pending the canvassing for surveillance video. 

*Dec. 10, 8300 Block of 112th Street: A restaurant reported a male had gained access to the store by breaking the glass out of the front door. The suspect targeted and pried two coin donation bins off the counter and placed them in a backpack and fled back out through the front door. The male is described as having an athletic build, wearing a black winter jacket with a fur hood, white full faced white mask, black gloves and pants, white/black running shoes, and a distinctive beige backpack. Estimated damage to the door is $1,000 with an approximate $400 loss from the donation bins. Surveillance video stills disseminated for possible identification of the suspect. 

*Dec. 11, 11800 Block of 86th Avenue: Complainant reported the theft of the catalytic converter from their vehicle parked outside their residence. The theft occurred overnight and the loss is estimated at $1,000. Police attended and located video surveillance, which captured the incident.
