A Delta police officer is facing forgery charges.
Const. Geoffrey Young was charged this week with two counts of forgery in relation to prescription pain medication after a Surrey RCMP investigation.
The alleged offences took place on Nov. 8, 2015 and were not related to Young's police duties.
At the time he was on administrative duties following a return to work after a medical leave.
The officer, 38, is charged with forgery and causing a person to use a forged document. His next court appearance is scheduled for today.
Young has been a member of the Delta Police Department since 2009.
He remains on paid medical leave while a Police Act investigation is carried out.
