One person injured in North Delta shooting

Delta Police are investigating a targeted shooting in North Delta Thursday night.

One person is in hospital after what Delta Police say was a targeted shooting in North Delta Thursday night.

In a news release, the department says officers remain on scene investigating the incident that occurred at approximately 5:45 p.m. on 82nd Avenue between 110th Street and 112th Street, which remains closed due to the investigation.

Acting Insp. James Sandberg said Investigators believe the shooting was a targeted incident related to the B.C. Gang Conflict. 

Suspects have left the area and there is no ongoing risk to the public, he said.

“One person has been transported to hospital and is receiving treatment for injuries related to the shooting,” said Sandberg. “No further information will be released this evening, as the investigation is in its early stages.”

Police are asking for any witnesses or cctv or dash cam video to come forward and provide that information to investigators.
