DPD say Wenyan Lan, age 54, has not returned from a planned solo excursion to go crabbing/clam digging in the Tsawwassen area.

Delta Police are still searching for a Surrey woman reported missing Monday after a planned outing to go crabbing and clam digging at Centennial Beach.

Wenyan Lan, age 54, was reported missing to Surrey RCMP by her family after she was believed to have gone crabbing in the late morning or afternoon on Monday.

DPD officers joined the search for Wenyan on Monday night when her car was located at Centennial Beach. Search and Rescue was engaged and continued searching throughout the night.

Search and Rescue resumed their efforts on Tuesday morning. The Coast Guard Hovercraft also joined the search over the waters of Centennial Bay.

DPD has assumed conduct of this missing person investigation and have been using other techniques to aid in the search, including the department’s drones.

“Unfortunately, we have no updates at this point,” said DPD spokesperson Cris Leykauf in an email update to the Optimist Wednesday morning. “Police are still working on all potential leads and information. The exhaustive shoreline and water search at this point has not produced any results.”

Lan is described as: 5’3” tall, approximately 100 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She is believed to be wearing hip waders and carrying gear associated to crabbing.

DPD are asking anyone who believe they may have seen Lan or have information that could aid this investigation to call police at 604-946-4411.
