The Sidekick Players will be auditioning for their fourth production of the season, Opening Night by Norm Foster, this month.

Director Todd-Elliot Gates is excited to get this play cast and into rehearsal.

It is Ruth and Jack Tisdale's 25th wedding anniversary.

To celebrate the occasion, they are having a night out - dinner and the theatre. Jack didn't really want to go - he's more a baseball and hardware man.

Ruth thinks it's time to make changes, get a little culture in their lives and put a little zip in their marriage.

She has lucked into a great set of theatre tickets that lets them mingle with the elite of the theatre world in the VIP lounge before the play and during the intermission. That's where the fun begins.

Opening Night is a play within a play. It's a toss up as to which is funnier - the performance taking place "on stage" or the one unfolding in the VIP lounge.

Opening Night runs from April 11 to 17 at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre.

Auditions will be held on Sunday, Feb. 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Sidekick Rehearsal Hall at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre (park in back of building).

It is a non-equity production.

Cast requirements are five males and three females from ages 25 to 50.
