It's been more than two months since their dog went missing, but Ladnerites Jack and Laurie Anderson are still holding out hope thanks to recent sightings.
Jordy, the couple's 12year-old mixer, has been spotted in Tsawwassen and Point Roberts this month.
Laurie said she has received calls from people that saw Jordy near Roosevelt Drive and the Point Roberts Golf Course and then a few days later he was spotted near the upper pond at Diefenbaker Park.
Jordy went missing after he dug his way out of the couple's backyard on Fenton Drive on Nov. 2.
Jack said he put the dog in the fenced backyard and went about cutting the lawn. He said he had just finished cutting the front lawn when Jordy got out.
"I just saw this brown streak running by," he said.
Jack said he had heard firecrackers being set off nearby and the couple thinks Jordy got scared and ran away.
It was about 5 p.m. when the search began and it hasn't stopped since. The couple has taken out ads, distributed flyers, offered a reward and rallied family, friends, coworkers and even strangers to help in the search.
They have followed up on every tip they've received on the dog's whereabouts, including sightings in Ladner, Tsawwassen and Point Roberts.
And every night since he went missing they have left the light on and the gate open.
The couple has received tremendous support from the community, Laurie said.
Laurie said Jordy is skittish, scares easily and does not like to be chased.
He is a small mixed-breed that resembles a Terrier Fox. He weighs about 15 pounds and was wearing a blue collar.
