A new skatepark will be one of the exciting attractions at Tsawwassen Mills.
Located in the West 49 store, the approximately 7,000 square foot skateboard facility will not only be a safe place for experienced skateboarders but will also provide lessons for youngsters interested in getting into the sport.
It is designed and built by New Line Skateparks, which has built over 200 indoor and outdoor skateparks, including one at Grauer Park in Tsawwassen.
West 49 is a specialty clothing and equipment retailer providing the latest in skateboard and snowboard fashion, accessories and equipment. West 49 also has an indoor skatepark at West Edmonton Mall.
The International Olympic Committee this year voted to include skateboarding as an Olympic event beginning in 2020 in Tokyo.
Tsawwassen Mills, a 200-store, 1.2-million-square-foot mall, will open Oct. 5.
