Tsawwassen

March 4, 5000 Block Canoe Pass Way: A business reported that an employee placed personal items on a mall bench while they closed the store. When they returned, the items were gone. Items stolen include an H&M bag, Bath and Bodyworks bag, and a white Guess shoulder bag all containing various merchandise worth approximately $400. Investigation to continue upon receipt of surveillance video from mall security.

March 5, 800 Block of 52A Street: A complainant reported a break and enter to their home. The suspect pried open the front door and left through a side sliding door. The only property stolen was $60 in change from a bedroom. Damage to the front door is estimated at $5,000. Identification services examined the scene for fingerprints with negative results.  No surveillance video available.

March 7, Police headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: A complainant reported that they received a text from an unknown person claiming to be their daughter requiring money be sent to a specific email address. The complainant sent $3,300 before they realized they were the victim of fraud. The bank was contacted by the complainant and was able to reverse the e-transfer. A police file number was provided to the bank for the incident to be investigated.  

March 10, 5000 Block of Canoe Pass Way: The Loss Prevention Officer of a business reported a male selected a fishing down rigger and left through the front door without payment. Police were provided with the plate number of a white Honda Civic used by the suspect. A query of the number revealed the suspect had been involved in multiple theft files. The current file is under investigation.

March 4, 6500 Block of Hwy 17: Police stopped a vehicle travelling at 142 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The driver was given a ticket for travelling at an excessive speed, and a seven-day vehicle impoundment. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver left the area by taxi.

March 5, 7100 Block of Vantage Way: A business reported the theft, which occurred sometime overnight, of fuel from one of the company vehicles. The suspect drilled a hole into the gas tank and stole approximately $100 worth of fuel. Damage to the vehicle is $1,500. No suspects, witnesses, or video surveillance. 

March 9, 53rd Street & 48A Avenue: During proactive patrols, police stopped a vehicle where the driver admitted to consuming alcohol. Two breath samples were provided by the driver which both read fail. As a result, the driver was given a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impoundment. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

March 10, 5400 Block of Ladner Trunk Road: Police stopped a vehicle during a proactive patrol. An odour of liquor emanated from the driver who admitted to consumption of alcohol “two hours ago.” The driver provided two breath samples with both reading fail. As a result, the driver was given a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition, and a 30-day vehicle impoundment. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver left in an Uber.
