“There were some nostalgic moments at Paterson Park Harnessway Saturday night, for the sentimentalists at least,” the Optimist reported on July 24, 1968. “The B.C. Standardbred Breeders Society celebrated the 80th birthday of the historic track during the evening. To mark the occasion, and to illustrate the dramatic growth of their society, the breeders paraded the stallion Actor Abbe hitched to a high-wheel sulkey that was in vogue around 1890.”
