UPDATE: A 25-year-old man was sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his lower body after a shooting in North Delta Monday.

A 25-year-old man was sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his lower body after a shooting in North Delta Monday.

The man was uncooperative with police but investigators will be “thorough in their efforts to determine the circumstances that lead to this targeted shooting and identify those responsible,” Delta police said in a media release.

“Although we are one of B.C.’s safest communities, today’s incident is a reminder that we are not immune and that we must continue to work together to maintain a high degree of safety in our community that we all enjoy,” Chief Neil Dubord was quoted as saying in the release.

Police responded to a shots fired call around 11:15 a.m. in the 9200-block of 120th Street. A suspect vehicle, “described only as a dark smaller import, was seen fleeing northbound on 120th Street from the scene,” the release noted.

One male was transported to hospital today as Delta police responded to a shots fired incident in the 9200-block of 120th St.

The investigation is ongoing, police said via social media.

120th Street was closed in both directions at 92nd Avenue.
