B.C. champs welcome new team to fold

Provincial champions

The defending midget provincial champion South Delta '94 Invaders took some time out of their busy preparation for the upcoming season to welcome the newest team to the rep fastpitch circuit - the Invaders 2001 .

The 1994 team was formed eight short seasons ago, and have enjoyed much success, on and off the field, during their time together. The girls' commitment to "giving back" and support for both the sport of softball plus to an association that had given them so much, made organizing a combined practice a natural event.

While the youngest Invaders were super excited to even have the older ladies practice in the same gym with them, the '94 team decided to take the night an extra step further .

The veteran coaching staff of Terry Westerhof and Wayne Ellis, in a display that flooded back a lot of great memories for each coach, relived a few of their teams many accomplishments and then discussed the importance representing their community with pride and integrity.

The young girls were wide eyed and respectful as the older team recounted some the great life lessons that they had learned during their time together. The friendship that they had formed for each other was obvious.

The night was highlighted as a member from the graduating Invader '94 team, presented each player from the 2001 team with their own sparkling new Invader uniform.
