Ladner blueliner Jordan Dawson was selected in fourth round (86th overall) by the Edmonton Oil Kings in yesterday's Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

The 15-year-old played this past season for South Delta Minor Hockey's Bantam A1 Storm team and recently was on the winning side at the B.C. U16 Cup in Salmon Arm.

Meanwhile, Dawson's former South Delta teammate Beck Malenstyn was taken in the first round (18th overall) by the Calgary Hitmen. Malenstyn has spent the past two seasons at the Okanagan Hockey Academy in Penticton. The Vancouver Giants used the number one overall pick to select Edmonton's Tyler Benson.

The later rounds of the draft were still being conducted at press time.
