The series, which took place March 15 to 17, marked the fifth consecutive year the longtime rivals had met in the postseason.

The Canadians dropped the third and deciding game 5-3 at the Burnaby Winter Club.

Greater Vancouver had a 3-1 lead after the first period with goals from Austin Adamson, Glenn Gawdin and Garrett Oliver.

The Giants struck for three in the middle frame and added an insurance marker in the third.

The Canadians opened the series with a 6-4 victory before losing 4-3 in the second game.

The Giants went on to capture the B.C. Major Midget Hockey League title last weekend, defeating the Okanagan Rockets in the championship series two games to one.
