The Delta Secondary Alumni Basketball Association is pleased to announce the 35 annual Alumni Basketball Tournament, taking place on Jan. and 27 at DSS.
This event is not just a gathering of past basketball players; it’s an opportunity to support a cause close to the community’s hearts - the Anesto Charles Foundation.
The Anesto Charles Foundation is in honour of a former DSS grad of 1979 who died suddenly of congenital heart failure following a basketball game in February 1996. His legacy lives on through the foundation, which provides scholarships and funding to young athletes and local teams, helping them to reach their full potential. The foundation is committed to nurturing young talent in our community.
This tournament is the longest running alumni basketball event in the province and invites all DSS alumni who have ever played basketball at the school to participate. Featuring men’s, women’s, and old timer’s games, everyone has the opportunity to participate and reconnect. This is a chance to step back onto the court, reconnect with old teammates, and support the community’s future athletes.
The tournament is more than just games; it’s a vibrant social event. With games throughout the day and social gatherings in the evening, it’s the perfect opportunity for alumni to catch up, reminisce about old times, and create new memories on and off the court.
