Tye Hemenway and the host Ladner Red Sox will look to cap a perfect run at the B.C. Minor Baseball 18U AA Provincial Championships in Sunday's gold medal game at 1 p.m.

The host team will be going for gold and a trip to Saskatchewan when B.C. Minor Baseball’s 18U AA Provincial Championships wrap-up this afternoon at Cromie Park.

The Ladner Red Sox booked themselves a spot in the 1 p.m. championship game by going unbeaten in round-robin play, highlighted by an 11-1 win over Vancouver Community on Saturday afternoon in a showdown of 3-0 teams.

That earned Ladner the No. 1 seed and a direct trip to the championship game while Vancouver Community will play the Tsawwassen Athletics this morning to determine the other finalist.

Tsawwassen bounced back from a couple of tough mercy-rule losses for two straight wins, including a wild 23-18 triumph over Vernon on Saturday night.

The Red Sox will enter the championship game having outscored their opponents by a whopping 47-3 margin.

The winning team will advance to represent B.C. at the Western Canadian 18U AA Championships in Estevan.
