Delta Islanders capped an outstanding 2012 season with a bronze medal at the recent Pee Wee "B" Provincial Championships in Richmond.

The Islanders opened the tournament with a narrow 7-6 loss to Campbell River, but then rebounded with wins over Juan de Fuca (11-7) and North Shore (13-6) to grab top spot in their round-robin group.

The locals moved onto the semi-finals where they dropped a 10-5 decision to the eventual champions from Peninsula, before rolling past Port Coquitlam 10-3 in the bronze medal game.

James Greig was named the team's MVP for the championships, while Kaileb Tattrie took home the Fair Play Award. Jon Greig paced the attack over the course of the tournament with eight goals. Ben Andrews and Richard Bailey added six each.

Consistent offensive play was also provided by Martin Safar, Rhys London, Ben Knauer and Ben Morrison. Standouts defensively included Owen Borthwick, Kenny Ross, and Reilly Kee, giving Delta many opportunities to maintain possession of the ball.

Stellar goaltending by Jarrod Bee and Nick Doucet was an important key to the team's success.

Coaches Jay Tattrie, Ron Kee, and Derek Bailey couldn't be more proud of how the team finished the season.
