It took the South Delta Islanders three years to finally beat the talented THC II team and claim the 2012 South Delta Men's Over 35 Hockey League playoff championship.

After finishing third during the regular season, the Islanders produced playoff wins against the Mud Bay Animals and the Bruins before facing a showdown with the first place Chiefs for the opportunity to play THC II in the final. The Islanders prevailed 5-4 and a rematch of last year's final was set.

This time the Islanders solved the potent THC II offense with a suffocating defence led by outstanding goaltender Don Brown and defensemen Kevin Bruels, Mark Bermel and the Lappin brothers - Curt and Cyle.

The Islanders received two helpers from Cyle Lappin and singles from Aaron Maclellan, Craig Boliver, Kevin Bruels and Peter Dashkewytch.

The remainder of the team includes Rob Bogress, Shawn Boliver, Steve Cowan, James Dott, Ken Elmer, Cliff Kelly, Brent Lee, Ryan Schram, Jim Tompkins, Rod Vaughn and Terry Weatherly.
