The Ladner Pioneers Alumni Lacrosse Association will be hosting its annual alumni game tomorrow at the Ladner Leisure Centre, bringing together past Pioneer and master players.

The game, set for 2: 30 p.m., is a warm-up for those who will be playing in this year's Masters tournament on the Canada Day weekend in Nanaimo.

The Ladner Pioneers tradition started in 1981 and the brand is still going strong into its 32nd year in the West Coast Senior "B" Lacrosse League, making it the longest tenure of any franchise in the league.

The Pioneers continue to be one of the top teams year after year and provide an opportunity for local players to continue to play a high level of lacrosse after they finish their junior careers. The success of the franchise and the number of local players available helped create a Senior "C" team for players to continue playing.

The Pioneer Alumni Association was started in 2007 to provide assistance to minor lacrosse in Delta as well as the Ladner Pioneers' "B," "C" and masters teams. The association has sponsored individual players selected to Team B.C. in box and field lacrosse championships.
