Promoted Ladner F.C. now part of FVSL's 2nd Division

A pair of senior men's soccer teams play on Saturday nights out of Dugald Morrison Park

Newly-promoted Ladner F.C. is more than holding its own so far in the Fraser Valley Soccer League’s Second Division.

The senior men’s team will take a 2-1-0 record into their match on Sunday at the Cloverdale Athletic Park against Surrey United thanks to a 3-1 triumph last weekend against Juba F.C.

After spending a number of seasons in the FVSL’s Third Division, which included a runner-up finish in the 2019/20 campaign, Ladner produced a breakthrough season to capture the “B” Division with a 14-2-2 record. Ladner held off runner-up FC Stars Academy (13-4-1) by taking four of six points from the Surrey-based club.

Ladner’s line-up features a number of players that have come through the B.C. Premier (High Performance) and Metro Selects levels of youth soccer, along with their hometown club. That includes midfielder Vikram Puri who helped Capilano University capture the PacWest Championship back in 2018.

Home matches are on Saturday nights (6 p.m.) at the Dugald Morrison turf field. Langley United will be in town Oct. 15.

The other local side in the FVSL Second Division is SFC Temple. The South Delta United affiliated squad sits at 1-1-1. They also play out of Dugald Morrison on Saturdays at 6 p.m.

Ladner F.C. and SFC Temple are slated to meet on Nov. 5.
