The Ladner Pee Wee A Red Sox baseball team recently capped off the spring season by clinching the tier two division championship in Cloverdale.

During the "rainy" season, the team experienced many ups and downs, including a second place finish at the Kathy Thomas Tournament over the Victoria Day weekend in Surrey.

As the playoffs started, the Red Sox were grouped with North Delta, Newton, White Rock and Cloverdale. The locals rolled to three straight victories to advance to the semi-finals. With home field advantage, they prevailed once more to face their longtime rival - Cloverdale Cubs - in the championship game.

Ladner took control in the third inning and never looked back in a 12-4win.

The coaches were impressed by the hard work and commitment put forward by a team that had struggled so much at the beginning of the season.

The Red Sox roster includes: Kieran Phagura, Simran Dhaliwal, Tyler Sanders, Dylan Samson, Ben Van Hattem, Reece Bains, Brett Thomas, Austin Christoperson, Conlin Jerrett, Evan Hixt, Beau Luchene, Jacob Kovalick and Jordan McCormick.

The boys would like to thank their coaches, Kal Phagura, Aidan Phagura, Bhavan Dhaliwal, Arjan Dhaliwal and Brian Yamasaki.
