Delta secondary students Erika Mackenzie, Chalane Morrison, Savannah Phillips and Priscilla Lawson-Pires have been named to the Selects' summer touring team. All four players will be entering Grade 12 in September.

Established in 2006 and now entering their 11th season; the Burnaby Mountain Selects are widely recognized as one of Canada's top field lacrosse development programs, combining excellence on the field, with the importance of academic achievement.

The Selects Elite Touring model follows a similar template as a university lacrosse program, designed to train players in a high performance environment, with the objective of best preparing young studentathletes to play at the collegiate level.

The girls team will be in Boston this month for The Northern RISE (July 13-14).

Known as the Premier Showcase in the Northeast and one of the top recruitment events for female student-athletes in North America, the RISE will feature elite club teams from across the U.S. that will descend on the campus of The Governor's Academy in historic Byfield, MA to compete in front of more than 100 NCAA college coaches.

Prior to the tournament, the Selects will tour both Boston College (NCAA Div. I) and Harvard University (NCAA Div. I), before concluding their trip with a day down the Eastern seaboard in Manhattan, NY.

The Selects' Girls Elite Team is coached by Chris Fox, currently an assistant with SFU Men's Lacrosse team.
