With opening day slated for Sept. 30, it's still not too late to sign-up for 201213 season in the Steve Nash Basketball League.

In its 15th year and run by the South Delta Basketball Association, the Steve Nash League features five age divisions for boys and girls, ranging from Grade 212. Players of all levels of experience and abilities are accommodated. The SDBA will once again have rep teams in the boys and girls U13 Metro Leagues.

The league operates out of gyms in Tsawwassen and Ladner. For the first time, registration has opened up to players in North Delta which saw its Nash program fold a number of years ago.

The SDBA is once again pleased to have Matthew McKay on board as director of coaching. Widely regarded as one of the top coaches in the province, McKay is now on staff at Delta secondary school and will be the varsity boys coach for the coming season.

The basketball programs at DSS and South Delta secondary are loaded with current and ex-SDBA players with many continuing on at post-secondary schools. Most recent is DSS graduate Lucas Goosen who enjoyed three outstanding season with the Pacers senior boys team and will be playing at Trinity Western University.
