The South Delta Storm represented Delta at the recent U16C Girls Fastpitch Provincials in Chilliwack.
The team earned a berth at the championship when won the Delta Cup tournament in June, claiming top spot in District 15.
The girls worked extremely hard in Chilliwack, but unfortunately the competition was very tough. In the round-robin, the Storm played four of the top eight teams (out of 17), including the eventual tournament winner Gibsons Crushers and third place Penticton Power.
These final games represented a terrific challenge for the team and its appearance at the tournament capped off a successful season.
Coaches Craig Merritt and Dave Stevens would like to thank the team for their outstanding play and attitude all year as well as Matt Ives, Laurie Lynes, Chad Rana, Scott Wheatley and the rest of the fantastic parental support team.
it The Storm roster includes: Alli Stevens, Ashley Ives, Ashley Hughes, Chanel Orlitzky, Emma White, Jessie Lynes, Jessie Minkus, Mirren Robson-Smillie, Nichelle Partridge, Olivia Merritt and Taylor Rana. At the provincials, the team was joined by Kyra Wheatley, Chelsea Jones and Tricia Kilbrai.
