One of two Vancouver Giants' pre-season games scheduled for the Ladner Leisure Centre has been scrapped due to a lack of available players. The Giants will still play the Kamloops Blazers on Sept. 22 in Ladner.

Wednesday’s Western Hockey League pre-season game between the Vancouver Giants and the Kelowna Rockets at the Ladner Leisure Centre has been postponed due to a lack of available players.

“The combination of players currently attending NHL training camps, and the number of recent injuries sustained during Training Camp have made it so that the Vancouver Giants are unable to ice a reasonably sized roster. The safety of our players remains our top priority,” said Giants General Manager Barclay Parneta.

The remainder of Vancouver’s pre-season schedule will proceed including the Kamloops Blazers visiting Ladner next Wednesday (Sept. 22) at 7 p.m. They will also host Prince George on Sept. 24 at Cam Neely Arena in Maple Ridge.
