The Tsawwassen First Nation is hosting an allcandidates meeting for Delta school board hopefuls Monday night. The meeting is the first opportunity for trustee candidates to square off ahead of next month's civic election.

Advanced voting for next month's municipal election begins this weekend. Advanced voting will be held Nov. 1, 5 and 6 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voters will have an opportunity to hear from those running for Delta council at three upcoming all-candidates meetings. The Delta Chamber of Commerce is hosting meetings in North Delta and Ladner this week.

Nick Kanakos has announced he is seeking re-election as a Delta school trustee in this year’s civic election. Kanakos is a father of four, retired teacher and long term resident of Delta.

Delta school trustee Val Windsor Thursday announced her intention to seek re-election in next month's municipal election. Windsor has seen the education system from many sides of the teachers’ desk.

North Delta resident Ron Calliou is the latest independent candidate to announce he's running for Delta council in this fall's civic election. Calliou, who initially moved to Ladner from Northwestern B.C.
