Delta election candidate list set

Here's who will be on the ballot in the races for council and school board

The ballot for next month’s civic election is set.

As of the Friday afternoon’s filing deadline at city hall, a few more names were added to finalize the list of council and school board candidates, while no one else has joined the six in the mayoralty race.

Kay Khilvinder Hale and Craig Decraene have joined four other independents for councillor, while 14 other council candidates are running on slates. Voters will choose a mayor among the six mayoralty hopefuls and six from the 20 running for a councillor seat.

Meanwhile, as far as the school board, incumbent Dale Saip and newcomer David Luey were the final names added to the list of candidates, bringing the total to 17. Voters will choose seven to be trustees.

The municipal election will be held Oct. 20
