In a statement today, he announced his support for George Harvie and the Achieving for Delta slate.

The first-term Liberal MLA described his time on Delta council as a positive experience when he worked with Harvie, the former city manager.

“Over the last few years, Delta was able to secure over $50 million dollars at the federal level for Delta projects. George has worked with all levels of government for the betterment of this great city we all love,” said Paton.

“George has an open door policy - he was the person I could always go to when I needed help with an issue, and together we sought positive solutions for those involved. George is a strong leader, an exceptional problem solver and possesses the utmost integrity. On Saturday, October 20th, I strongly encourage you to vote George Harvie for mayor and the entire Achieving for Delta team for council and school board.”

Paton on Facebook also posted his support for Achieving for Delta council candidate Dylan Kruger, commending his skill set, passion, commitment and heart.
