Delta will soon be receiving an intersection camera to issue automatic speeding tickets.

On Monday, ICBC and the B.C. government announced that they will be activating eight more intersection cameras that will go live across the Lower Mainland on Feb. 24.

Delta’s camera will be located at Nordel Way at 84th Ave. Four cameras will go active in Surrey and one in Langley, Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam.

Once the new cameras are activated it will bring the total to 35 high-accident urban intersection across B.C.

There are intersection cameras at 140 high-crash intersections across the province with 105 of those cameras monitoring red light violations, while 35 monitor both red light and speed violations.
