There has been a lot of controversy lately with respect to the $25 a month charge to residents of long-term care for the rental of a wheelchair.
Our mother was in Mountain View Manor for approximately two years and we would have been more than happy to pay $25 a month for the use of a wheelchair. It is our understanding those who cannot afford the monthly rental would be exempt.
The purchase and upkeep of a wheelchair would be a substantial hardship for many residents and their families, so we really feel $25 a month for those who can afford it would be appropriate.
