Letters: HUB Cycling does not speak for me

Re: If dikes ever raised please pave tops (Optimist, Aug. 25).

Hold it, put on the brakes!

I have operated both pedal and e-bikes on the trails and dikes of Delta for the past 50 years. HUB cycling certainly does not speak for me.

I have always thought of the trails as recreational areas and not as commuter roads.

We already have plenty of speeding bikes on the trails and dikes. Can you imagine if the dikes were paved? They would be too dangerous to walk on!

Also we should keep oil and tar based blacktop as far away from the ocean as possible. There's already too much pollution getting into the ocean.

Also, while I'm on my soapbox, walkers, please keep your dog on a leash.
