Re: Bob Orrick letter about MAiD (Optimist, March 11).

Assistance in dying is a natural and logical extension of the services offered by the Irene Thomas Hospice facility. Its setting is more conducive to a peaceful transition; and moving a patient to Delta Hospital halfway through this transition does not make sense.

Using a loaded word such as “homicide” to describe assisted suicide is disingenuous, and if anything detracts from any argument about MAiD.

MAiD is accepted by the vast majority of the Delta population and the Irene Thomas facility is the logical site.
