Re: To chicken or not to chicken (Optimist letters, April 29)
Chickens are in, much to my disappointment. I did write in opposition but to no avail.
I do not feel that Delta understands the implications of backyard chickens.
I hope that any resident in my area who decides to raise chickens keeps an eye out for the local racoons and rats. These critters like to drink out of the local ditch.
I suggest that residents complain to Delta Bylaws if the birds become a nuisance. Cleanliness will be absolutely necessary in order to prevent odour and vermin.
