I see there is much talk about an overpass on River Road.
I think the better discussion should be about a better way to get to the Ladner Trunk from River Road.
With the new tunnel all that roadwork to put in extra traffic signals and lanes at the existing overpass, seems money wasted if it all has to be changed for a new tunnel. Maybe with all the changes we may see an improvement to the scary Highway 17 merge to Highway 99.
But whatever happened to the overpass that was planned for 44th Avenue along the old railway right of way? There was to be another way to get out of Ladner, across now 17A to East Ladner. Much of the right-away has become an ersatz dog park, and even fenced in and incorporated into people’s backyards.
