Paying it forward following surprise offering

Editor: On a recent Saturday night, my husband and I went to the Thai Isaan Cuisine Cafe in Tsawwassen for dinner. We were followed into the restaurant by another couple.

The young woman (everyone is so young nowadays!) came over to our table to show us an exotic soft blue flower she had brought from her mom's yard. The restaurant had let her use a small glass to show it off.

She and her husband finished their meal before we did, but before she left, she brought the lovely flower to us as a gift. She suggested we either keep it or pass it on. Naturally, we passed it on to another couple before we left, telling them the story accompanying it. They were so pleased and promised to pass the flower on before they left.

What a nice small town thing to do. And guess what? If we have a blossom of any sort left in our yard next time we go out, we shall do the same thing.
