Editor: Re: Air cadets are deserving of same treatment, letter to the editor, Nov. 16 I would like to bring to the attention of C.

Editor: I have been aware of this for a long time, but after almost getting sideswiped twice in a week I feel something has to be done before someone is seriously hurt or worse on Highway 17 near Ladner Trunk Road.

Editor: Re: Prince Rupert not good option, letter to the editor, Nov. 16 I'll be the first to admit we are facing a challenge. What some call "economic progress" means turning what remains of our worldclass farmland into an industrial park.

Editor: I am somewhat relieved the voters of Delta chose not to confer two elected municipal positions on one candidate and by a substantial majority rebuked his bid for the senior office.

I am going to review some voting data from the 2011 municipal election with regard to the mayor's race. Forty-nine per cent of registered voters live in South Delta and 51 per cent in North Delta.

Editor: Electricity, the light and warmth it provides, is my friend. The cost goes up, as do all costs. It is metered. The little numbers go round and round and a nice man checks the numbers occasionally before I am billed.

We're satisfied. There are lots of ways to interpret the results of Saturday's municipal election, but given the familiar look of our new local government it's hard to argue with the contention that voters are quite happy to maintain the status quo.

Hopefully, as you read this, you have or are planning to vote in the municipal election. As was noted earlier in the week in this paper, municipal elections don't generate too much interest.

You're almost certainly going to be ticked off by something Delta council or the Delta school board does over the next three years.
