Logan Schuss had nine points, including a hat trick, as the Vancouver Warrior stormed back to win in overtime in Calgary on Saturday night.

A big night from Logan Schuss helped the Vancouver Warriors make a memorable National Lacrosse League debut on Saturday night in Calgary.

The Ladner standout had three goals and six assists as Vancouver stormed back for a 14-13 overtime win over the Roughnecks in its regular season opener.

The Warriors scored the final six goals of the game, erasing a 13-8 fourth quarter deficit to stun the home team and a crowd of nearly 11,000 at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Vancouver scored twice in the final minute of regulation time, including Schuss’ hat trick goal with 50 seconds remaining. He then set-up James Rahne for the equalizer 28 seconds later. Both goals came with goalie Aaron Bold pulled for an extra attacker.

Captain Matt Beers scored the game winner at 4:17 of sudden death overtime, ripping a shot past Roughnecks goaltender Christian Del Bianco from 25 feet out in transition.

Mitch Jones, another hometown standout, chipped in with three assists.

Bold and the Warriors’ defence held Calgary without a goal for the final 19 minutes of play.

The same two Western Conference rivals will meet on Saturday at Rogers Arena in the Warriors’ home debut.  Game time is 7 p.m. For ticket information visit www.vancouverwarriors.com.
