It’s a hat trick of Western Lacrosse Association awards for Ladner’s Logan Schuss.

The 27-year-old standout with the New Westminster Salmonbellies received the Commission Trophy on Thursday as the league’s most outstanding player. Earlier, Schuss received the Denny Huddleston Memorial Award as the regular season scoring champion after producing 106 points in 17 games, including 37 goals.

He also was the 2018 winner of the Three Star Award — a season-long honour based on first second and third star selections.

Schuss was selected second overall by New West in the 2013 WLA Draft after a standout junior “A” career with his hometown Delta Islanders. Of course, he is also enjoying a productive career in the National Lacrosse League with Vancouver.

Schuss was also named to the WLA First All-Star Team. Meanwhile, three other Islanders alumni — Eli McLaughlin (Burnaby), Chase Fraser (Nanaimo) and Jordan Gilles (Nanaimo) were Second All-Star Team selections.
