The 2001 Delta Coastal Selects have closed out their run through youth soccer in grand style, capturing the Provincial “A” Cup.
The district rep girls soccer team defeated the North Shore Renegades 2-0 on Sunday at South Surrey Athletic Park, ending a terrific season-long rivalry between the two clubs. Delta had prevailed in the Coastal Cup final back in May and the Renegades answered with a 3-2 triumph in Provincial Cup round-robin play on Friday.
The Selects earned a rematch with wins over Vancouver Island champions Gorge/Lakehill/Juan de Fuca (3-2) and the Port Coquitlam Castilians (5-4).
The Delta Coastal roster features: Emily Mackenzie, Rachel Kibrai, Kylie Gee Kotanko, Nastia Khotiaintseva Lopez Izabella Bryant, Jennifer Tinnes, Emily Vanspall, Mackenzie McGahey, Megan Woo, Michaela Estrada. Navi Parmar, Olivia Wickett, Sadie Baird, Samantha Squelch, Sydney Ellis, Taryn Webster, Natasha Knudsen and Rylee Fitzgerald.
The girls are coached by Gord McGahey, Jonathon Bryant and Scott Ellis.
