Vancouver keeps playoff hopes alive with 19-11 win over Philadelphia

Ladner’s Logan Schuss has three goals and nine points in the Vancouver Warriors 19-11 NLL win over the Philadelphia Wings Sunday afternoon at Rogers Arena.

The Vancouver Warriors erupted for a team record nine goals in the opening quarter and cruised from there, handing the Philadelphia Wings a 19-11 setback at Rogers Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Keegan Bal paced the well-balanced attack for Vancouver, scoring a NLL high 14 points in the game with five goals and nine assists. Jordan McBride also had five goals on the afternoon, while the Warriors saw Mitch Jones pot four, Ladner’s Logan Schuss lit the lamp three times, Brandon Goodwin and Jean-Luc Chetner also turned on the light for Vancouver in the win. Jones had a 10-point night, while Schuss had nine and McBride kicked in eight points to spread around the offense. The 19 goals also matched a team high for any NLL team in a single game this season.

Aaron Bold picked up the win in net for Vancouver, making 62 saves as Philadelphia outshot Vancouver 73-54.

Vancouver’s playoff hopes remain alive.

With two games left this season, Vancouver (5-11) needs to win both games remaining (at Rochester April 20 and home to Toronto on April 26 and have Colorado lose their final two games (on April 19 to San Diego and April 27 against Saskatchewan) to qualify for the NLL playoffs.
