North Delta's George Mackie Library will be closed starting this Friday for renovations. The closure is in effect until Sunday, March 15 according to a news release from the City of Delta.

Delta’s newly elected mayor has a brush with death in late 1973. In a scary incident, Tom Goode, 39, who was elected a couple of weeks prior, escaped injury when the helicopter he was a passenger in crashed into a farmer’s field on River Road.
