Delta throwback: Cavalier Shoppe's hottest men's styles of 1972

The outfits were described as ideal casual wear for leisure and summer party time fun

Let’s go back to mid-June 1972 when the Cavalier Shoppe was one of many offering Father’s Day deals at the Delta Fair Shopping centre.

Harry Kitzman of the Cavalier Shoppe Ltd. said he expected to do a busy trade with his exciting new line of colour coordinated Jantzen casual wear for leisure and summer party time fun.

The new styles included the “unsuit”, a lightweight machine washable and dryable unlined suit, with casual half belt, parch pockets and flair pants. Blazers and pants came in combinations of checks, herring-bone and stripped patterns with pants to match.

Also popular were single-breasted English Crimplene, wide-lapel and Fortrell knit vest suits, designed for wear with casual shirts and blousy sleeves underneath.
