Huge drop in Delta schools having COVID-19 exposures

The number of schools having had exposures has seen a big drop, reflective of the lowering number of COVID-19 cases recently in communities across the province

The Delta School District informed parents that the province’s restart plan does not impact the existing COVID-19 operational and health and safety guidelines for K-12 settings as those remain in place and must continue to be followed for the remainder of the school year.

Just one Delta school is on Fraser Health’s latest list of schools which have had recent COVID-19 exposures.

According to the health region’s list updated Friday, Heath Elementary had an exposure event May 27 and 28.

No other public or independent schools are on the latest list, a big difference from FHA’S list from May 25 when 16 schools were listed as having exposures.

Youth ages and up in B.C. can now register to get vaccinated, but immunizations will not be held in schools.
