North Delta Crime Beat: Two women come to blows in road rage incident

The purpose of the Crime Beat is to educate and inform the public about some of the property crime trends occurring in North Delta and other files of interest. *Dec. 18: A restaurant manager in the 8200 block of Scott Road reported that a group of six males were getting verbally escalated towards staff. Police attended and were informed that there was an issue between the restaurant staff and the group regarding service. The group was upset with the restaurant for refusing to serve them alcohol. After they were informed that restaurants have the right to refuse service, the group decided to pay their bill and leave without further issues.

*Dec. 18: Police were notified by BCEHS of a two-vehicle injury collision at 86th Ave. and 120th St. One driver trying to cross 120th Street pulled out into one lane of traffic southbound and was struck on the side of the car by the vehicle that was already on Scott Road. Airbags were deployed in both vehicles. Total damage was estimated at $13,000. Minor injuries only to both drivers. Both vehicles were towed.

*Dec. 17: Witnesses reported two women fighting in the street due to road rage at 120th St and Nordel Way. One driver had changed lanes in front of the other driver, resulting in the second driver exiting her vehicle and spitting on the first driver through her open window. The two parties began fighting and yelling at one another in the streets. Neither person involved were interested in pursuing assault charges. Both stated they fought willingly.

*Dec. 16: A witness reported a three-car collision on the Highway 17 on-ramp from the Highway 91 Connector. A Kia Sportage attempted to pass a tractor-trailer when it was merging and rear-ended a Honda Civic which was pushed into a VW Tiguan. There were no injuries and ambulance services were declined. Two vehicles were towed, and ICBC was notified.

*Dec. 16: Police received a report of a collision in the 1200 block of Derwent Way. Police attended and determined a car was travelling westbound in the 1200 block Derwent when a truck was across the road and blocking passage. The vehicle collided with the passenger side of the tractor-trailer. There were no injuries. The car was towed. No witnesses were located. Report forwarded to ICBC.

*Dec. 13: CCTV at 8239 116th St. captured an unknown person attending the residence and then leaving shortly. The homeowner had placed a gift box for their mailman in front of the door, which went missing after the suspect was seen coming onto the property. The mailman confirmed he did not receive the gift. The suspect likely stowed it in his backpack. Still images were disseminated for ID. The suspect is a Caucasian male, in his mid to late 20’s, with dark brown hair, an army green flat cap, a black jacket, black pants, black gloves, a black backpack, and riding a burnt orange bicycle.
