The purpose of the Crime Beat is to educate and inform the public about some of the property crime trends occurring in North Delta and other files of interest.

March 14, 8300 Block of 116A Street: Complainant reported they had parked their panel van and when they returned in the morning the vehicle was gone. Surveillance video revealed a suspect entering the front passenger door of the van and driving away a short time later. Approximately $3,000 worth of plumbing materials were in the van. Still photos of the suspect to be disseminated for possible identification. Vehicle was added to the Canadian Police Information Centre as stolen.

March 16, 7800 Block of 112th Street: Complainant reported their backpack stolen from the recreation centre. The backpack contained clothes, white crocs, an iPhone 14, and a necklace. Surveillance video to be examined for possible identification of a suspect.

March 16, 92nd Avenue and 120th Street: During a proactive patrol, police stopped a vehicle. The driver exited the vehicle and claimed they did not have anything to drink.  When breath samples were requested, the complainant refused. As a result of the refusal the driver was given an automatic 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impoundment. The driver refused a taxi and stated they would find their own way home. 

March 18, 7100 Block of 120th Street: The Loss Prevention Officer of a business reported a person had concealed $200 worth of clothing and left without payment. Police attended and located the suspect at the bus stop. The suspect was arrested for theft and the merchandise was returned to the store. The suspect was released on an undertaking to appear in court at a future date and a no-go order to the store.
