The Grinch visited Tsawwassen Springs not once but twice last week, stealing an estimated $4,500 worth of Christmas lights.

It was a year ago the golf community decided to decorate about 20 feet high Evergreen trees located on a berm that runs along 52nd street, from Highway 17 to the entrance at Springs Boulevard.

“These lights aren’t cheap. We invested tens of thousands of dollars to enhance the entrance into Tsawwassen,” said general manager Sue Carlile. “If these thefts continue we will have no choice but to remove the remaining lights.”

It’s believed the thieves struck in the middle of the night on both occasions. Club maintenance crews were busy last Friday tying the remaining lights to the trees. Other security measures have been added.

The resort also hosts the Festival of Lights which is a significant fundraiser for Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation.

Anyone with information on the stolen lights should contact Delta Police at 604-946-4411.
