Throwback: Tsawwassen's hot night spot

Radio and TV stars could often be seen frequenting the venue

Let’s head back to the August 1965 pages of the Optimist when the new Pillars Inn music venue in Tsawwassen was already described as one of the most popular night spots in the Lower Mainland.

Hosted by Ernie Horsman, many entertainment celebrities could be see frequenting the venue. They also enjoyed the “tip-top cuisine” with the seafood specialty one of the popular choices.

It was noted visitors from all parts of the world were enjoying first-class entertainment given by Dal Richards and his Combo, as well as singing star Lorraine McAllister.

“For those who wish to see and be seen, to enjoy a special treat in delectable foods, to hear the music of Dal Richards and Lorraine McAllister, all in a country-like, seaside atmosphere of Tsawwassen, a night at the Pillars Inn is a must,” the Optimist reported.
