Delta Police continue to investigate the cause of a pedestrian involved collision in Boundary Bay Thursday afternoon.

Just after 4 p.m. on Aug. 25, officers responded to a vehicle collision in the 6600 block of 3rd Avenue that involved a pedestrian.

According to police, a 34-year-old woman was transported to hospital with serious injuries. Collision investigators conducted an extensive scene analysis. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene.

Although serious injuries did occur to the pedestrian's hand and lower leg, the injuries are not considered life threatening,” said Acting Insp. James Sandberg. “The investigation continues to determine the cause of the collision, but alcohol and drug impairment do not appear to be contributing factors at this time.

“The driver, a non-Delta resident, is not in custody and no charges have been sworn to date.”
