Ladner Village has gone through a few changes over the decades and even bigger changes are now being contemplated.

Let’s head back to Ladner Village in 1966.

This photo shows Delta Street which included Lord's Store, Magee's New & Used Furniture Store, the former Dunnett's Grocery Store and Fisher's Drug and Book Store.

The City of Delta is currently working on a revitalization plan for the village.

A recent update report to city council notes staff will continue to evaluate feedback to help refine not only a new land use plan and design of the entire length of Chisholm Street and the waterfront, but also new development permit area design guidelines for the form and character of new development within in the village.

They will be presented to a multi-committee meeting in the coming months.

Staff anticipate that the land use plan, waterfront design and village design guidelines would be completed in the early fall.

Draft bylaws would be prepared for final community feedback, and then council's consideration, before the end of this year.
