Throwback: Ladner Lions perfect in 1969

Mark Leier and Peter Fey, co-captains for the Ladner Lions, received the Peewee trophy from Ray Symonds, Delta Canadian Football Association president.

Let’s head back to November 1969 when the final game in the Peewee Division of the Delta Canadian Football Association was seen by many enthusiastic fans at the Ladner Elementary School grounds.

Fans saw the Ladner Lions stay undefeated and win the trophy in a close match with the North Delta Panthers.

Lions halfback and star player Peter Fey scored multiple touchdowns in the 18-7 victory.
